Building is the essential part of the game, without it your citizens will suffocate in the vast emptiness of space. It is setup in two ways Construction of your rooms and placement of your Objects
Construction
Builder
The first thing you will want to do is assign someone to be a builder under the Character roles tab of your menu. Builders construct the 'blueprints' and objects (Such as a bed or door) you place down, while their skill level determines how fast they will do it: 1-star builders will be the slower than those with 4-stars for instance.

Builders sometimes have an annoying habit of staying outside until they have only 1-minute of air, then they will return to an airlock to replenish their suit's oxygen supply. THIS IS NOT long enough! Usually the builders will die inside the airlock just as it closes. Make sure you build in stages and not assign one large task to avoid this.
Base Rooms
The base rooms you will need in order to have a starbase capable of supporting life is to build an Airlock connected to a Life Support rooms, this will enable your citizens to enter the base and replenish their oxygen supply. Without it they will perish in 8 mins from asphyxiation.
Refinery
The next phase is to build a Refinery, and place a Matter Refinery, by now the starting materials are probably running low.
Morale Rooms
After finishing the Refinery thus ensuring thatyou have the Matter necessary the Residence and Pub rooms can be built, this will make sure your citizens are happy and healthy.

Rooms
Each room has their own unique objects that must be put in the rooms for them to function.
