Losing SpaceBase DF-9 requires that all citizens in your base be killed, either through catastrophic breakdown of life support or a successful attack by Raiders.

- The only way to continue after defeat is to start a new space station.
- The game will allow you to stay with your defeated station for as long as you wish. Over time, the power will flicker and die to the station, and the entire base will be deoxygenated. Machines will deteriorate without technicians to maintain them, and will eventually be destroyed. Ultimately, your station becomes a dark, rubble-strewn graveyard.
