Matter is the official currency of Spacebase DF9. You create matter to use to build Objects and Rooms. This is found in the top right of the main screen
At the beginning of the game you start off with 2000 matter, however this will quickly be used up and you'll need to go Mining to collect matter from Asteroids.
Asteroid matter is taken back and processed in a Matter Refinery to be added to your current matter stores.
Matter can also be obtained by salvaging the Base Seed Pod, parts of your station or a Derelict.
